The Company
PhotoTour was established in 2013 by Richard Obendorf to help businesses market and operate more efficiently by capitalizing on the latest digital photo technology. The recent addition of drone photography has put me squarely into survey and mapping, roof inspections and other valuable services that were not available to companies even 1-2 yrs ago. These new services are a great fit with my experience in construction, inspections and survey work. My basic bean counting and report writing tendencies are also fulfilled with these new drone services.
Meet Richard
I have owned several businesses in different industries over the years. Without exception, I was always looking for cost effective ways to increase my operational efficiencies and exposure to the market. I learned early on from owning a car wash that location, signage and exterior appearance were all critical to attract new customers. Once in, I had to give them good service and a clean car. Today I probably couldn't afford that car wash site on that busy corner. I also couldn't get a permit for the monstrous rotating sign and the banners and flags would be illegal. I am totally empathetic with anyone starting or operating a retail brick and mortar business. See my personal "case study" ...
As an experienced businessman and marketer I have seen an almost complete transition from expensive print advertising like phone books to very inexpensive digital media in just a few short years . The cost savings alone emphasize the importance of the internet to promote most any business in highly competitive markets.
As an example, have you used Google Maps to find a location lately? Exactly! If you are a retail merchant who is proud of your store you can now use services like Google Maps Streetview 360 panoramic tours to show the world around the inside of your store 24x7 for the cost of a photographer. It is truly revolutionary marketing.
As an avid photographer I have taken 10s of 1000's photos of events, scenery, people, architecture and businesses using both film and digital equipment. The almost complete switch from film to digital is revolutionary for me and has been a huge cost benefit for my customers. If you happen to own an Android or I-Phone and take pictures you have been part of this digital revolution.
